The headphones are designed for durability and comfort, featuring 90° swiveling earcups, high-quality materials, and ample cushioning on both the headband and earpads. They come with three detachable, single-sided cables—one coiled and two straight—ensuring optimal functionality whether in the studio or while traveling. Each cable is equipped with a gold-plated 3.5mm mini plug, making them compatible with mobile devices and computer soundcards, and a 1/4" screw-on adapter is included for easy connection to audio interfaces, mixers, and stereo receivers. Additionally, a carrying pouch is provided with the ATH-M50x for convenient storage and transport of the headphones.

Limited-Edition LAB Finish

This limited-edition finish was created as a result of the M50x Series Limited-Edition Color Voting contest initiated by Audio-Technica in 2020. Following numerous votes cast by customers worldwide, the design ultimately selected was submitted by Bolivian DJ Sergio Gramarra.

Regarding his color choices, Sergio remarked: The blue symbolizes confidence, embodying the quality and dependability of the M50x headset; orange signifies energy and creativity, capturing the thrill of music within us; and gray introduces an element of sophistication and elegance, harmonizing the color scheme while imparting a contemporary feel.

45mm Drivers

The ATH-M50x is equipped with exclusive 45mm large-aperture dynamic drivers that utilize rare earth (neodymium) magnets and CCAW (copper-clad aluminum wire) voice coils, ensuring superior sound quality.

Tuned for Clarity and Deep, Accurate Bass

The combination of the drivers and headphone design collaborates to deliver a sonic signature that is finely tuned for remarkable clarity across an extensive frequency range, complemented by deep and precise bass characteristics. With a frequency response spanning from 15 Hz to 28 kHz, the ATH-M50x is capable of reproducing a comprehensive array of tones.

Over-Ear, Sound-Isolating Design

The ATH-M50x features a circumaural design that envelops the ears, providing superior sound isolation in noisy settings. This over-ear, closed-back configuration is ideal for minimizing sound leakage and isolating the listener from external noise.

90° Swiveling Earcups and Foldable Design

The ATH-M50x features earcups that swivel 90°, providing an excellent fit and facilitating easy one-ear monitoring, which is particularly advantageous for DJs and vocalists. The earcups can be folded to align with the headband, optimizing space for storage. Additionally, a carrying pouch is included to offer protection and ease of transport for the headphones.

Three Detachable Single-Sided Cables

To enhance its adaptability, the ATH-M50x features a detachable cable design that emerges from the left side. This design facilitates easy cable replacement and aids in identifying the left and right sides of the headphones. Included are three cables: a coiled cable measuring 3.9 to 9.8 feet, a straight cable of 9.8 feet, and a straight cable of 3.9 feet, allowing users to select the most suitable cable for various activities, whether for sessions, travel, or home listening.

3.5mm Plug and 1/4" Screw-On Adapter

The included cable features a gold-plated 3.5mm TRS mini plug, facilitating straightforward connections to mobile devices, MP3 players, and computer headphone jacks. Additionally, a secure 1/4" screw-on adapter is provided to ensure compatibility with audio interfaces, mixers, and specialized headphone amplifiers. The 3.5mm mini plug is designed with built-in strain relief, minimizing the risk of connection damage in the event of cable tugging.
