Building upon the success of the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, Blackmagic Design has introduced the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, a more advanced and compact Super35 camera within their cine-style lineup. The 6K Pro retains all the recording capabilities, sensor specifications, dynamic range, controls, and connectivity options of its predecessor, while incorporating several significant enhancements. These include a 5-inch tilting HDR capacitive touchscreen LCD with a brightness of 1500 cd/m², an optional Pro EVF, integrated clear/2/4/6-stop ND filters, dual mini-XLR inputs, a precise timecode clock, a slot for NP-F570 L-series batteries, and an upgraded Gen 5 color science.

Despite its slightly larger size compared to the 6L, the 6K Pro is capable of recording resolutions up to 50 fps at 6144 x 3456 video quality. It also maintains the advantageous active Canon EF mount, allowing users to utilize a wide range of EF/EF-S mount lenses. The EF mount facilitates electronic communication for iris, autofocus, and zoom functions when compatible lenses are employed.

The 6K Pro has the capability to transform a single frame into two by extracting a second shot from it, upscaling to 8K, or by capturing high-quality, detailed footage using your preferred EF/EF-S-mount lens. The enhanced Gen 5 internal color processing facilitates seamless integration of 6K Pro, 6K, and BMPCC 4K footage. Recording options include the internal CFast 2.0 and SD/UHS-II card slots, or through the full-size HDMI port to an optional ATEM Mini switcher for live streaming. Additionally, it allows output via the USB Type-C port for extended recording to an external SSD. The 6K Pro comes with a DaVinci Resolve Studio license and supports Blackmagic Raw capture directly from the sensor. Utilizing the Raw format along with the sensor's metadata streamlines the editing process for any project, enhancing the editing experience with DaVinci Resolve.

The compact design of the 6K Pro preserves the well-known controls and menu structure of the 6K model, featuring ISO capabilities up to 25,600, 13 stops of dynamic range, and 1920 x 1080 HDR monitor output. The professional audio support has been upgraded to include two mini XLR inputs with phantom +48V power, a 3.5mm stereo input, a mono speaker, a headphone output, and an integrated stereo microphone system.

The advanced professional features encompass support for lens metadata, the application of 3D LUTs for both monitoring and recording purposes, the capability to capture still images at resolutions up to 21.2MP, and a multifunction grip that facilitates single-handed operation. For multicamera shoots such as concerts or events, multiple cameras can be synchronized by connecting an external timecode generator to the internal timecode generator of the 6K Pro, which can be accessed through the 3.5mm audio port. This setup allows for efficient post-production, as Resolve can automatically synchronize the multicamera footage.

Alongside the DaVinci Resolve Studio activation key, the 6K Pro is equipped with a 30W power supply that allows for concurrent battery charging, an MP-F570 battery, a lens port cap, and a camera strap. Additionally, optional accessories tailored for the 6K Pro, including the BMPCC Pro EVF and BMPCC Pro Battery Grip, are available for separate purchase
