Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K | Micro Four Thirds

The Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K is equipped with a 4/3" sensor, enabling the capture of DCI 4K images at a resolution of 4096 x 2160 and frame rates reaching up to 75 fps. It supports a range of codecs, including Blackmagic Raw at various bit rates and multiple ProRes 422 options. With the introduction of the 6.6 update, the BMPCC 4K can now achieve frame rates of up to 80 fps in a 2.8K raw mode for 4:3 anamorphic recording, as well as maintaining 75 fps in a 4K raw mode with a 2.4:1 aspect ratio. Users can benefit from a 2x de-squeeze preview for 4:3 recordings and a 1.33x de-squeeze option. Additionally, slow-motion capabilities extend to 120 fps in 2.6K raw for Super16 lenses and in cropped Full HD. The 6.6 update enhances usability by adding support for the Pocket Battery Grip and incorporating a built-in horizon level feature. Other enhancements in the 6.6 update include support for more languages, USB PTP control, customizable frame guides, an 8x pinch-to-zoom function, the ability to embed custom LUTs as metadata in Blackmagic Raw, among other improvements.

The Micro Four Thirds lens mount is designed to support the original lightweight lenses of the Pocket Cinema Camera, and it is compatible with PL, C, EF, and various other lenses through the use of separately sold adapters. It features a dual-native ISO that reaches up to 25,600, enabling effective low-light performance, while its 13 stops of dynamic range ensure the production of vibrant HDR images.

Recording can be accomplished via the internal CFast 2.0 and SD/UHS-II card slots, or by utilizing the USB Type-C output for extended recording sessions to an external drive. The 5" touchscreen LCD of the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K minimizes the necessity for an external monitor, and a full-sized HDMI port allows for signal output to larger displays. The menu system and interface mirror those of the URSA Mini camera, and 3D LUTs can be utilized for monitoring or for embedding your desired look during the finalization process.

Audio capabilities include a mini-XLR input with phantom power suitable for professional microphones, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an internal stereo microphone. Additional functionalities encompass the same Blackmagic OS as the URSA Mini and Bluetooth remote control. A license key for DaVinci Resolve Studio is provided, offering extensive post-production capabilities. The Pocket Cinema Camera 4K is constructed from a carbon fiber composite, ensuring both lightweight durability and strength, with power options that include the supplied Canon LP-E6 type battery or the included power supply.
