This device boasts a vibrant 7-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and a brightness of 300 cd/m², facilitating precise framing and focusing of your shots. It is equipped with 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs, allowing for the recording of video output from both professional and consumer cameras. The monitor supports video resolutions up to 1080p60 in 10-bit 4:2:2 format, along with the ability to handle up to 16 channels of embedded 24-bit 48 kHz audio. Additionally, it includes two balanced 3-pin mini-XLR inputs that support 48V phantom power for high-quality audio recording. The firmware update 3.3.1 introduces a video output via the USB Type-C port, enabling the use of your connected camera as a webcam. It also enhances audio functionality with XLR audio mapping to various channels, external timecode support, and selective channel monitoring.

The Video Assist 3G 7" records onto SDXC/SDHC memory cards through dual UHS-I SD card slots. The USB Type-C port can be utilized for recording, configuration, and firmware upgrades. Video recording is accomplished using industry-standard codecs such as Apple ProRes (HQ, 422, LT, or Proxy) and Avid DNxHD.

This monitor features a touchscreen interface that allows for easy adjustment of settings and access to monitoring tools, including histogram, waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope, and various other scopes and exposure aids. A tally light positioned on the top of the monitor indicates when it is operational and recording. Users can select from 11 languages to facilitate navigation of on-screen text displays and menu options. The monitor can be powered using the included 12V power adapter or with separately purchased Sony L-Series type batteries in the dual battery slots.
