The G70 maintains the same form factor and many impressive specifications as the G50, including a 1/2.3" UHD 4K CMOS sensor, a DIGIC DV 6 image processor, an 8-blade circular aperture, 5-axis image stabilization, and a 20x optical zoom capability in 4K, allowing for recording at UHD 4K30 resolution. This refined model is equipped with a larger 3.5mm LCD capacitive touchscreen display, a higher resolution tiltable 0.36" OLED electronic viewfinder, and records exclusively in MP4 format. Additionally, it offers rapid USB-C video-only output with UVC support for seamless live streaming to a computer.

The G70 enables simultaneous recording of UHD 4K30 3840 x 2160 video to separately available SD cards through its integrated dual SD card slots. Its recording capabilities encompass slow motion at rates as low as 0.5x, fast motion up to 1200x, and interval recording in both HD and 4K formats. Additionally, it embeds essential information such as time, date, timecode, and other metadata directly into the video files. The lens is equipped with sophisticated autofocus technology, a broad 29.3-degree field of view, and a 20x optical zoom, allowing for a zoom range of up to 627mm in 4K. The five-axis advanced image stabilization effectively minimizes shake and jitter, particularly at extended focal lengths.

The camera features five customizable buttons, a joystick, a lens ring, and a custom dial, providing comprehensive control over your settings. The electronic viewfinder (EVF) is designed to tilt for enhanced convenience and comfort, while the adjustable LCD screen includes a touchscreen for straightforward access to settings.

Included with the camera are an AC adapter with an adapter cable, a BP-820 battery pack, a lens cap, and a lens hood with a lens barrier.

For even greater accuracy and convenience, especially in busy environments where you need to keep a subject in frame, Face Detection AF and Face Tracking is also available, while Manual Focus is set via the focus/zoom ring.
