The Canon RF 10-20mm f/4 L IS STM is an advanced ultra-wide zoom lens that offers professional-grade results for a variety of applications, including landscape, nature, architecture, and interior photography. Designed for both photographic and videographic use, this adaptable full-frame L-series lens enhances the visual impact of your images, ensuring exceptional outcomes that will be cherished for years to come. Its rectilinear optical configuration incorporates one Super UD element, three standard UD elements, and three aspherical elements, effectively minimizing chromatic aberration and distortion across the zoom range while maintaining consistent sharpness and illumination from edge to edge. The lens is equipped with ASC (Air Sphere Coating) and SWC (Subwavelength Structure Coating) to mitigate flare, ghosting, and other optical aberrations, thereby enhancing contrast and color fidelity. Additionally, the FLC fluorine coating on the lens surface provides excellent resistance to dust, water, grease, and dirt, allowing for effortless cleaning even when contaminants adhere to the lens. This coating is durable enough to withstand frequent cleaning, and its anti-reflective properties aid in capturing clear and vivid images.
Fast Autofocus and Image Stabilization
The autofocus system is both rapid and accurate, providing swift and nearly silent performance, along with a full-time manual focus override feature. The high-speed STM leadscrew-type focus drive system operates quietly, making it particularly advantageous for videographers. An Optical Image Stabilizer effectively reduces the visibility of camera shake by five stops, facilitating better performance in low-light situations and with slower shutter speeds. Furthermore, when used in conjunction with an EOS R-series camera equipped with In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS), the Coordinated IS system enhances stability, allowing for up to six stops of camera shake compensation. The minimum focusing distance is just under 10 inches across all focal lengths, enabling distinctive ultra-wide close-up shots.
