The application of extension tubes results in an increased distance from the rear of the lens to the film plane, allowing for photography at closer ranges to the subject. Consequently, extension tubes are frequently utilized in macro photography and occasionally for close-up portraiture. When employing the camera's TTL metering system, there is no need for exposure compensation (unlike the requirement for handheld meters).
The revised version II is now fully compatible with Canon Digital EF-S lenses, in addition to standard EF and TS-E lenses.
The Extension Tube EF 25 II is advisable for use with lenses that have a focal length of 50mm or greater (the EF-S 18-55mm can be utilized at mid-range and telephoto zoom settings).
- Shortens focusing distance of lens
- Compatible with EF-S lenses, as well as EF and TS-E lenses
- White-index mark provided for digital SLR EF-S lenses
- Red mark provided for photo lenses
