The DJI RS 4 offers improved operational efficiency, vertical shooting capabilities, and a broadened range of compatible accessories, establishing it as an exceptional tool for users of mirrorless cameras. Weighing approximately 2.4 pounds, this gimbal has a load capacity of 6.6 pounds, making it suitable for your compact camera setup. The Teflon-coated axes minimize friction, resulting in a more seamless balancing and operational experience. Additional user-friendly features comprise a fine-tuning knob, an auto-locking OLED display, and an RSA communication port for connecting to various accessories.
Second-Generation Quick Release Plate Design
The RS 4 retains the well-known dual-layered quick release plates of its predecessor, facilitating effortless camera mounting and balancing. The horizontal plate has been redesigned to enable quicker transitions to vertical shooting in its native orientation. A fine-tuning knob allows for precise adjustments of the tilt axis, enabling forward or backward movement of the camera. Additionally, the upper plate features enhanced placement guides to ensure secure mounting of the camera.
Second-Generation Automated Axis Locks
When the gimbal is turned off, pressing and holding the power button will unlock the three axes while the gimbal automatically extends, enabling you to begin your tasks within two seconds. A single press of the power button will lock the axes and activate sleep mode, thereby enhancing efficiency during transport or storage. The latest version of this design features reduced gaps when locked, which further minimizes gimbal shake.
RSA Communication Port
The RSA communication port facilitates the integration of Ronin series accessories into your gimbal setup. You can incorporate both Ronin-specific and third-party accessories equipped with control functionalities to alternate between various shooting configurations. The DJI RS SDK protocol will enable third-party manufacturers and developers to design tailored features for the RS 4 in the future.
Wireless Shutter Control
The RS 4 Pro enhances user convenience through the integration of Dual-Mode Bluetooth, enabling wireless shutter control that streamlines the shooting process. Following the initial Bluetooth pairing, users can effortlessly manage video and photo capture by pressing the record button located on the stabilizer. Cameras that have been previously paired will automatically reconnect after the first use, thereby removing the necessity for a camera control cable.
New DJI Focus Pro Motor
Connect the RS 4 to the new Focus Pro Motor utilizing the specified USB-C port. This motor offers a 30% enhancement in speed and enables lens focusing through a dial, while zooming can be accomplished via a joystick.
Integrated Controls
By effortlessly adjusting the newly introduced gimbal mode switch, users can transition between Pan follow, Pan and Tilt follow, and FPV modes. The selection for FPV mode is also customizable, offering options such as 3D Roll 360, Portrait, or Custom, enabling swift adjustments to your equipment for immediate use. Additional intelligent features encompass motion-lapse, tracking, and panorama capabilities. Furthermore, the trigger button can be tailored to FPV mode, allowing the three axes to align with the grip's movement when the button is pressed.
Fourth-Gen RS Stabilization Algorithm
The RS 4, equipped with an advanced stabilization algorithm, offered superior stability compared to the RS 3, effectively handling vertical shooting, rapid movements, and low-angle shots with ease.
Auto-Locking OLED Screen
The RS 4 features a stationary OLED touchscreen that incorporates a new auto-lock function. When activated, the screen will show the current movements of the gimbal and joystick at a reduced brightness level, thereby minimizing the risk of unintentional changes and extending battery life.
Integrated Monitoring and Control
Adjust the camera exposure remotely through the Ronin app, or utilize the virtual joystick to manage the gimbal, ensuring a seamless monitoring and control experience. The Ronin Image Transmitter allows a smartphone to function as a motion controller, enabling remote operation of the RS 4 gimbal for enhanced flexibility and dynamic camera movements.
Enhanced Battery and Fast Charging
The RS 4 battery grip incorporates a cartridge design, facilitating effortless battery exchanges and compact storage. Additionally, it can be charged independently from the gimbal. This innovative battery grip offers an extended operational time of up to 12 hours, sufficient for all-day continuous shooting. It supports 18W PD fast charging, requiring only 2.5 hours for a full charge. Furthermore, it can be utilized while charging, ensuring that the RS 4 remains powered for an extended period.
