In addition, the sensor swings onto the screen, taking up minimal space and allowing you to continue working even during calibration.

    • EIZO does not recommend carrying out color-critical work during recalibration, as the screen's colors will be adjusted.

  • A monitor must undergo calibration at regular intervals to ensure color accuracy. EIZO's exclusive ColorNavigator 7 software offers an intuitive and exceptionally precise approach to color management. It enables users to schedule automatic recalibrations, calibrate all color modes at once, and perform correlation with external sensors to align with the studio's internal color management system. Calibration data is stored directly on the monitor rather than the operating system, allowing users to avoid recalibration even when switching to a different PC.

  • ColorNavigator Network offers centralized quality control (QC) for ColorEdge monitors utilized by studios, printing houses, and various enterprises that have multiple creators and editors collaborating on shared projects. By installing NetAgent or ColorNavigator 7 on the workstation, administrators are able to oversee several ColorEdge monitors through a web browser, facilitating quality control from remote locations. Additionally, ColorNavigator Network is hosted on a secure cloud server, relieving you of the initial investment and ongoing expenses associated with maintaining your own server.

  • The monitor's extensive color range accurately reproduces 98% of the DCI-P3 standard utilized in digital cinema and is compatible with the BT.2020 standard employed in broadcasting. Furthermore, it encompasses 99% of the Adobe RGB color space, ensuring that images captured in Adobe RGB are displayed accurately. Additionally, it nearly covers the entire ISO-coated and US web-coated CMYK color spaces that are commonly used in printing.

  • The monitor is equipped with a 3D LUT that modifies colors on an individual basis using an RGB cubic table. By utilizing the emulation feature of the compatible ColorNavigator 7 software, creators can preview how their content will be perceived by the audience. Additionally, the 3D LUT enhances the monitor's additive color mixture, which is the combination of RGB, playing a crucial role in its capacity to render neutral gray tones.

  • Utilizing either the DisplayPort or HDMI input, the ColorEdge monitor provides a 10-bit simultaneous display derived from a 16-bit look-up table (LUT), enabling it to present over one billion colors at once. This represents a 64-fold increase in color range compared to an 8-bit display, leading to seamless color transitions and a minimized Delta-E between neighboring colors.

    • To achieve a 10-bit display, a graphics board and software that are compatible with 10-bit output are essential. Additionally, when connecting through HDMI, equipment that supports DeepColor is necessary for 10-bit display.

  • The preset modes for DCI-P3, BT.709, and BT.2020 guarantee that you can operate within the correct color spaces and gamma values. Furthermore, preset modes for PQ (DCI and BT.2100) and HLG (BT.2100) are provided for the purpose of viewing HDR content. Utilizing the integrated calibration sensor, you can easily modify or sustain the brightness settings for each preset.

  • The ColorEdge CG2700X boasts an impressive brightness level of 500 nits. It is compatible with HLG (hybrid log-gamma) and the PQ (perceptual quantization) curve, facilitating the display and editing of HDR (high dynamic range) video content. The enhanced gamma curves allow images to be represented more accurately in accordance with human visual perception of the real world, in contrast to SDR (standard dynamic range). This capability guarantees that professional creators can consistently showcase HDR content for the purposes of editing and color grading.

  • In accordance with the DCI standard, the monitor provides an impressive contrast ratio of 1450:1, enabling the display of true blacks that are often challenging to achieve on a conventional LCD monitor. Additionally, CG Series monitors feature a retardation film that helps maintain the depth of tones, even when viewed from an angle.

  • The DCI 4K Cropping feature enables users to present a DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) signal while cropping content that extends beyond the limits of the panel's native 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution. Users have the ability to choose from three options that dictate which section of the image will be cropped.

  • The ColorEdge CG2700X provides an option for image scaling and resampling through the Nearest Neighbor interpolation setting. When performing upscaling, Nearest Neighbor duplicates and positions pixels to the nearest adjacent location, preserving color accuracy. If Nearest Neighbor is disabled, the monitor employs an interpolation technique that harmonizes the gradation of surrounding pixels, resulting in a smooth color transition. Editors can conveniently select the most appropriate interpolation method for their project using the monitor's OSD menu, ensuring that the content appears as intended when upscaled to 4K.

  • The monitor features a function that highlights the regions of the image that cannot be accurately displayed under the current brightness settings. These regions are indicated in yellow or magenta and can be observed for brightness levels of 300, 500, 1000, and 4000 nits.

  • Enlarge areas of the screen to confirm small details and check focus accuracy in images using the 4K zoom function. It is quickly and easily accessible using the monitor's front buttons.

  • The monitor features a Gamut Warning preset which, when activated, highlights sections of a BT.2020 image that cannot be accurately reproduced in BT.709 by transforming them into shades of gray. Furthermore, there is a mode known as BT.709 Clipping that enables the editor to visualize BT.2020 images within the BT.709 color space, thereby simulating the appearance to their audience in an HDTV setting.

  • To ensure color settings stay consistent throughout production, the monitor includes a Sync Signal function which automatically adjusts the monitor's settings, such as input range and input color format, according to the video signal.

  • The gamma level for every ColorEdge monitor is calibrated at the factory by assessing the R, G, and B gamma values ranging from 0 to 255. Subsequently, the monitor's 16-bit look-up table (LUT) is utilized to choose the 256 most suitable tones, thereby attaining the desired value. This process guarantees the most seamless color transitions in your images.

  • A standard monitor typically requires 30 minutes or longer for its brightness, chromaticity, and tonal characteristics to reach stability. In contrast, the ColorEdge CG2700X achieves this in just 3 minutes. Whether you are operating in a studio environment or transporting the monitor to a location, you can expect a dependable color display shortly after powering it on.

  • The hue and luminosity of an LCD monitor may vary due to fluctuations in the ambient temperature and the monitor's own temperature. The ColorEdge CG Series monitors come with a built-in temperature sensor that accurately gauges the internal temperature of the monitor while also estimating the temperature of the surrounding environment. Utilizing this temperature sensing and estimation technology, the monitor makes real-time adjustments, ensuring that gradations, colors, brightness, and other attributes are displayed with precision. Additionally, EIZO incorporates AI (artificial intelligence) into the estimation algorithm of the CG2700X, enabling it to identify different temperature change patterns for even more precise corrections.

  • LCD monitors frequently display variations in brightness and color consistency throughout the screen, which impacts color precision. To address this issue, ColorEdge monitors incorporate EIZO's proprietary digital uniformity equalizer (DUE) technology, which rectifies discrepancies in every hue across the screen to guarantee a stable display.

  • The ColorEdge CG2700X's sleek, new design incorporates punched metal on the back side that allows for more airflow, keeping the monitor cool without a noisy fan. A carrying handle on the back of the monitor allows you to easily move it to other locations.
