The Focusrite Clarett+ 2Pre desktop 10x4 USB Type-C audio/MIDI interface is equally adept in both studio settings and mobile configurations. It features enhanced 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA conversion, low-latency monitoring, and two Air-enabled microphone preamps that emulate the renowned sound of the classic ISA preamps. The interface is equipped with two mic/line/instrument inputs, along with an optical port that facilitates digital input expansion through ADAT or S/PDIF connections, as well as MIDI I/O for the integration of MIDI devices such as keyboards or drum machines. It features four line-level outputs and a stereo headphone output, allowing for the proper connection of monitors, headphones, and additional equipment. The Clarett+ 2Pre comes bundled with a software package that includes Focusrite Red plug-ins and a channel strip that faithfully emulates the rare Focusrite Studio Console. Tone-Enhancing Analog Air Circuitry

Premium, relay-controlled analog circuitry on every preamp emulates the classic Focusrite ISA 110 by switching the impedance to 2.2 kilohms and adding two cumulative high shelves, totaling a 4 dB boost in the high frequencies.

JFET Instrument Inputs

Dedicated ultrahigh-impedance JFET instrument inputs, featuring an exceptionally broad audio bandwidth, replicate the characteristics of guitar amplifier inputs to maintain the authentic tone of guitars and accurately capture their inherent qualities.

Software Instrument/Line Input Switches

With a simple press of a button in the control software, each 1/4" input can accommodate line-level sources, such as the stereo output from a mixer or the line outputs from guitar and bass amplifiers. Additionally, these inputs can be directly connected to instruments, including electric guitars, basses, synthesizers, or drum machines, eliminating the necessity for DI boxes.

Independent Headphone and Line Outputs

There are four balanced 1/4" TRS line outputs on the rear panel: The first two are configurable to function as monitor outputs or traditional line-level outs. To allow critical listening through headphones, there is a front-panel 1/4" headphone jack fed by a powerful and tonally linear headphone amp. Separate knobs are provided for quick and independent adjustment of the monitor and headphone volumes.

MIDI I/O

Spin the Clarett+ 2Pre around, and you'll find traditional 5-pin MIDI I/O ports, perfect for hooking up a MIDI keyboard controller, a synthesizer/workstation, or a sound module, for MIDI recording, editing, and sequencing.

8-Channel Digital Input

The Clarett+ 2Pre not only features adaptable analog inputs and outputs but also includes a TOSLINK optical input. This input is capable of receiving an 8-channel ADAT signal at a maximum of 48 kHz (or four channels at 88.2 / 96 kHz) as well as a stereo S/PDIF source. By connecting an external microphone preamp that has an ADAT or S/PDIF output to this optical input, users can record additional microphones.

Two Powering Options

The Clarett+ 2Pre includes an external power supply to ensure its proper operation. Alternatively, the interface can be bus powered when connected to a 15W USB Type-C port.
