Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB Audio Interface | 4th Generation
The Focusrite Scarlett Solo (4th Generation) 2-in / 2-out USB-C audio interface offers a blend of high-quality sound and user-friendliness in a compact and portable design suitable for recording, podcasting, and streaming. This device enables musicians and creators to capture high-quality audio effortlessly, regardless of their location. The Solo 4th Generation is equipped with an ultra-low-noise microphone preamp and a Hi-Z instrument input, allowing simultaneous recording of a microphone and a guitar, making it ideal for singer/songwriters.
Additionally, the upgraded 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA converters deliver an impressive dynamic range of up to 120 dB, comparable to the quality found in professional studios. A selectable Air circuit enhances clarity and adds a rich harmonic drive to vocals. Furthermore, the Loopback feature allows podcasters, gamers, YouTubers, and streamers to mix audio from other applications running on their computer while recording through the interface. Notably, the Solo 4th Generation can now operate in standalone mode without the need for a computer, which is advantageous for live performances or monitoring-only scenarios.
The interface comes with a complete recording toolkit with Pro Tools Intro+, Ableton Live Lite, and Focusrite's Hitmaker Expansion software bundle; featuring Auto-Tune Access for Vocals, Softube Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 for guitars, Native Instruments MASSIVE synth, and more.
Portable, Bus Powered, or Standalone
- Compact and lightweight, the Scarlett Solo is designed to be both rugged and capable of securely resting on your desktop or accompanying you during travel. Thanks to its bus-powered USB-C connectivity, it can be utilized in any environment, including remote locations, alongside your preferred DAW on either a Mac or Windows computer, or on an iPad Pro that features a USB-C port.
- The Scarlett Solo 4th Generation is capable of operating in Standalone mode, allowing it to transmit audio from the inputs to the outputs without requiring a computer. To power the device, simply connect an external USB power supply or a USB power bank (both sold separately) through the USB-C port located on the rear panel.
4th-Generation Pristine, High-Resolution Conversion
- The Scarlett Solo 4th Generation incorporates the same studio-quality, 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA converters utilized in Focusrite’s premier RedNet interfaces, which are present in numerous high-end studios across the globe.
- Due to its exceptional performance through 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA converters that provide an impressive 120 dB of dynamic range, the Scarlett Solo is designed to accurately and clearly capture a variety of sources, including vocals as well as acoustic and electric instruments, ensuring that the interface does not obscure your sound.
Ultra-Low-Noise Mic Preamp with Air Mode
- The Scarlett XLR microphone preamplifier accurately captures the sound of your microphone with clarity and complete detail. It features switchable 48V phantom power to support your preferred condenser microphones.
- The selectable Air Mode introduces the bright and expansive sonic character of a large studio console to your microphones.
- This mode enhances high-end presence and provides a rich harmonic drive to both vocals and instruments, effectively reproducing the Air effect characteristic of Focusrite's original ISA microphone preamp.
Hi-Z Instrument and Line Input
- The 1/4" input located on the front panel of the Solo 4th Generation is specifically engineered to maintain the integrity of your sound when linking high impedance (Hi-Z) instruments such as electric guitars or basses—eliminating the necessity for a DI box or amplifier.
- With a simple press of a button, the 1/4" input can also accommodate a line-level source, such as the output from a mixer or the line outputs from guitar and bass amplifiers.

Individual knobs are available for the swift and independent adjustment of both your speaker and headphone volumes. Employ selectable direct monitoring to listen to your live input signal without any distracting echo or latency.
Loopback Function for Podcasters, Gamers, YouTubers, Streamers
Loopback enables you to capture audio from various sources on your computer (for instance, the audio output from a web browser) by utilizing the Scarlett's virtual stereo inputs. These inputs do not have physical connectors on the hardware interface but can be chosen as signal sources within the DAW. Podcasters can utilize this feature to record guests during video calls. Gamers have the ability to separately record gaming audio along with a microphone. YouTubers can record their microphone audio over a video. Additionally, you can merge computer audio with your microphone for streaming purposes.
