The UPRTek ikan MK350 Spectrometer is a portable and compact device designed for measuring the output of LED light sources. It provides readings in Lux, Color Rendition Index (CRI), color temperature, and peak wavelength. While the meter is capable of measuring visible light, it is specifically optimized for LED sources, which may result in reduced accuracy when assessing non-LED lighting. The device is capable of recording, analyzing, and displaying measurements independently, eliminating the need for a computer connection. This feature facilitates quick assessments of brightness, CRI, and color temperature, making it convenient for fieldwork or on-site evaluations. Users can determine the color temperature of various light sources and obtain objective readings.
Weighing slightly over half a pound, the MK350 is designed for easy portability throughout the day. It features a 3.5-inch touch panel LCD with four display modes: Basic, Spectrum, CIE 1931, and CIE 1976. Users can choose between one-time or continuous reading options, and the device stores data on SD cards in XLS format. Additionally, it allows for the display to be saved as a .bmp image. Data can be transferred to a computer via the SD card or through a direct USB 2.0 connection. The included rechargeable Li-ion battery provides up to 5 hours of operation on a single charge.
The meter displays readings in four modes:
