Kenko KFM-1100 Auto Digi Meter

The Kenko (THK Photo Products) KFM-1100 Autometer is an intuitively designed light meter that effectively measures both ambient and flash lighting. This straightforward and dependable device is comfortable to hold and features a logical layout with minimal buttons to avoid confusion. The large LCD screen displays readings in "F" numbers, providing precision in tenths of stops and half-stop increments along a pointer scale at the top. With a shutter speed range extending from 1/8000 of a second to 30 minutes, this meter demonstrates high sensitivity. In cine mode, it can accommodate frame rates from 8 to 128. As a flash meter, the KFM-1100 operates effectively with or without a sync cord and offers an aperture range from F/1.0 to f/128. Additionally, it allows for the analysis of both flash and ambient light, enabling users to determine the lighting ratio in various scenes, particularly useful when a flash is employed to illuminate shadowed areas created by natural light.

The meter's "Calculation" feature enables users to average stored measurements, which is particularly beneficial for reflected light assessments, allowing for more accurate capture of highlight or shadow details. The KFM-1100 can retain two measurements in memory, which can be recalled for reference or averaging purposes. To store a reading, simply press the "M" button after each measurement. If two readings are already stored, the oldest one will be replaced by the new data.
