The Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4, an M-mount lens, retains the same optical design and remarkable image quality as its predecessor from the 1960s. It is distinguished by its outstanding performance, beautiful bokeh, and compact form factor. Once the fastest wide-angle lens available, this updated version remains faithful to the original, capable of producing painterly, ethereal images at its maximum aperture while exhibiting exceptional sharpness when stopped down. The stainless steel front ring, commonly known as the "Steel Rim," along with the lockable focus ring and attachable lens hood, are designed in the spirit of the original model. Additionally, this new iteration introduces a second, round lens hood featuring an E46 filter thread, allowing for the use of lens filters, which is a significant enhancement compared to the 1960s version. The Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 is part of Leica's Classic line of lenses, celebrating the distinctive and innovative optics that contribute to their legacy of creating truly remarkable and recognizable imagery.
