MagMod Starter Flash Kit V2

The MagMod Starter Flash Kit 2 comprises the two fundamental modifiers of the MagMod system. This kit includes the MagGrid 2 grid and the MagSphere 2 dome. Additionally, it contains the MagGrip 2 adapter, which attaches securely to your flash head and offers a magnetic foundation for the effortless interchange of the other two modifiers. The adapter is designed specifically for round-head flashes but is also compatible with standard flash units.

MagMod MagGrip 2

The MagGrip 2 serves as an adapter that facilitates the attachment of various MagMod modifiers to hot shoe flashes. Constructed from silicone rubber, it stretches to fit securely over the flash head, providing a magnetic base for the attachment of modifiers such as the MagGrid, MagBounce, and others. This second version is specifically designed for round-head flashes, although it is also compatible with standard models. It features a more oval shape compared to the original version, enhancing its fit for round-head flashes, and is slightly more compact. The integrated magnets provide robust attachment points, enabling quick and easy swapping of modifiers. The silicone rubber maintains 99% of its elasticity over time, even after extensive and repeated use.

MagMod MagGrid 2

The MagMod MagGrid 2 is a honeycomb grid designed to be compatible with most hot-shoe flashes. It modifies the beam angle of the flash to a more focused 40°, effectively reducing unwanted light spill and enabling the capture of cleaner and more uniform images. Additionally, multiple units can be stacked to further narrow the beam angle. It is also possible to combine a MagGrid 2 with a MagSphere 2 to achieve both diffused and precisely controlled lighting. Constructed from silicone rubber, the MagGrid 2 is designed to be resistant to chips and cracks in the grid cells.

To attach the MagGrid 2 to the flash, a MagGrip or MagGrip 2 accessory is required, which is sold separately. The optional MagGrip, made from silicone, stretches to fit securely over the flash head, allowing the grid to magnetically connect to it. The optional MagGrip 2 features a round design that is optimized for round head flashes but is also compatible with standard-style flashes.

MagMod MagSphere 2

The MagMod MagSphere 2 is engineered to magnetically attach to your hot shoe flash using the optional MagGrip 2 adapter. This device transforms your flash into a soft, omni-directional bare-bulb light source, functioning effectively as an on-camera diffuser or a compact bounce card. The second version of the MagSphere is 40% lighter than its predecessor, facilitating more efficient operation.

The necessary MagGrip 2 adapter is specifically designed for round-head flashes, although it remains compatible with standard models as well. This adapter stretches and secures over the flash head, providing a magnetic base that allows for the rapid attachment and detachment of the MagSphere as needed. Constructed from durable silicone, the MagSphere 2 maintains 99% of its elasticity over time, even after extensive and repeated use.
