Video Capabilities

The capability to support UHD 4K video at 30 frames per second enables the recording of subjects using a super-telephoto lens equivalent to 3000mm. Furthermore, frames captured in this video format can be extracted and saved as still images. This system also features Clean HDMI output, which removes any on-screen display information from the image sent to an external monitor while recording.

Dual Viewing Systems

The P1100 features a bright vari-angle 3.2" LCD display that makes composing and reviewing images and movies a breeze. Also available is the 0.39", 2.36 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder for a more traditional shooting style.

Shooting Modes

The P1100 is equipped with a variety of shooting modes that tailor settings for various scenarios, including nightscape, light trails, star trails, and the newly introduced fireworks mode. The well-regarded Moon Mode is particularly effective for photographing the Moon, while the Bird Mode enhances the camera's capabilities for capturing vibrant and colorful avian subjects, both of which can be easily accessed via the mode dial. Furthermore, the COOLPIX Picture Control feature enables users to make adjustments based on the subject matter, shooting conditions, and creative intentions.

Control Ring and Snapback Button

The control ring located at the front of the device allows for the adjustment of focus, exposure, white balance, and ISO directly from the lens barrel. Additionally, the barrel features a zoom toggle and a specific Snapback button, which enables the P1100 to swiftly zoom out if the subject is lost at extended focal lengths. Upon releasing the button, the focal length will revert to its prior setting.

Built-In Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

Wireless connectivity has received significant upgrades, now operating under WPA3-SAE and Bluetooth version 5.1. Nikon's SnapBridge technology also allows for seamless photo sharing, and zoom control can be managed from a computer, smartphone, or tablet using NX Tether, or NX Field.

Optional ML-L7 Remote

The optional ML-L7 remote (not included) can wirelessly adjust a variety of settings such as ISO, zoom, and aperture, in addition to triggering the shutter of the P1100. This lets you maintain precise composition while shooting from a tripod.
