Shure VP89S Modular Short Shotgun Microphone
Designed as a modular system that supports interchangeable capsules to accommodate a range of indoor and outdoor recording scenarios, the Shure VP89S short shotgun microphone delivers a wide 70° acceptance angle for more off-axis pickup than the medium VP89M and the long VP89L. Lightweight and rugged, the VP89S provides reliable operation and low susceptibility to hum, GSM, and radio-frequency interference. The phantom-powered preamp features a switchable low-cut filter to attenuate problematic bass frequencies such as rumble and a standard XLR 3-pin output for straightforward connectivity. Outfitted with a Class-A, discrete, transformerless preamplifier, the VP89S delivers a clean and quick transient response with minimal harmonic/intermodulation distortion and no crossover distortion. Long and medium-sized capsule barrels are available separately to suit various recording needs, rejection angles, and frequency responses.
