The Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x is a specialized speed-boosting adapter made primarily for the Canon EOS C70, allowing full-frame EF lenses to work with its Super 35mm sensor while retaining a field of view much closer to what those lenses provide on full frame. Its 0.71× optical reduction also concentrates more light onto the sensor, giving you approximately one additional stop of light transmission. That makes it particularly useful when adapting fast Canon EF glass for low-light filmmaking, fashion work, commercials, and documentary shooting. Unlike a basic mechanical adapter, it maintains electronic communication between compatible EF lenses and the RF-mounted C70, including autofocus, iris control, lens metadata, and certain optical corrections. Canon also released firmware updates adding functionality for a range of EF and EF Cinema lenses, including several CN-E primes.
