Used Canon VT 35mm Rangefinder | Black | U9
The Canon VT is a fully mechanical 35mm interchangeable-lens rangefinder camera introduced by Canon in 1956. It uses the Leica Thread Mount (LTM/M39 screw mount), making it compatible with a massive range of vintage Canon, Leica, Nikon, and Soviet screw-mount lenses. The VT was Canon’s first major departure from its Leica-inspired bodies, introducing a swing-open back for easier film loading and the distinctive bottom-mounted trigger film advance. Shutter speeds range from 1 second to 1/1000 sec plus Bulb and Time, using a horizontal cloth focal-plane shutter. The rotating variable-magnification viewfinder can switch between 35mm, 50mm, and a magnified RF focusing mode, which was extremely advanced for the mid-1950s. The camera is especially known today for its exceptional build quality, smooth trigger advance mechanism, and compatibility with fast Canon LTM lenses like the Canon 50mm f/1.2 and 35mm f/1.8
