The 30–60mm Vario-Sonnar lens is known for strong sharpness and contrast, particularly at the wide end. Its titanium construction gives it a premium feel similar to the Contax T-series cameras, though the TVS III offers the flexibility of a zoom lens. The camera includes a built-in flash, exposure compensation dial, and adjustable diopter, making it one of the most feature-rich premium film compacts of its era.
