The Mamiya N 50mm f/4.5 L is an ultra-high-quality wide-angle lens designed specifically for the Mamiya 7 and 7 II 6×7 rangefinder systems. Its 84° field of view gives a perspective roughly equivalent to a 24–25mm lens on 35mm film, making it excellent for landscapes, architecture and environmental photography. The 10-element, 6-group optical design delivers the high resolution and contrast that the Mamiya 7 system is known for. Unlike most modern lenses, it incorporates an electronic leaf shutter, allowing flash synchronization across its entire shutter-speed range. The lens uses a separate FV703 external finder because the camera's internal finder does not have a dedicated 50mm frame. At 456g, it is surprisingly manageable for a medium-format 6×7 wide-angle lens and remains one of the most desirable lenses in the Mamiya 7 system.
