The Minolta X-700 is widely regarded as one of the best manual-focus 35mm SLR cameras ever made. Introduced in 1981, it combined beginner-friendly automation with advanced features that appealed to experienced photographers. Its Program mode allows fully automatic shooting, while Aperture Priority and Manual modes provide complete creative control. The camera uses Minolta's SR mount, giving access to a large selection of high-quality Rokkor lenses. TTL flash metering and exposure lock were advanced features for its time and remain useful today.
