The Nikon R8 Super Zoom is a Super 8 cartridge movie camera built around a Cine-Nikkor 7.5–60mm f/1.8 zoom lens with an 8x zoom ratio and dual-speed power zoom. TTL Electric Eye metering with manual override, automatic film speed detection, and a variable 160° shutter provide flexible exposure control across a range of filming conditions. In-camera fade-in/fade-out, rewind/overlap dissolves, and multiple exposure capability support creative in-camera effects without post-production editing. Housed in a die-cast metal body and powered by standard AA batteries, the R8 delivers the steady image registration and optical quality associated with Nikon's 35mm SLR lens heritage.
