Valued by image creators from various backgrounds, the Westcott Ice series was conceived by Jerry Ghionis, a distinguished wedding and portrait photographer who envisioned an optimal solution for on-the-go shooters seeking a straightforward, intuitive, and dependable method to illuminate their on-location productions. The initial Ice Light and its successor, the Ice Light 2, were utilized by photographers and videographers for a range of applications including portraits, weddings, product photography, interviews, video performances, and numerous other on-location or studio arrangements. The Ice Light 3 is expected to follow suit. However, this iteration has been designed to provide cinematic RGB lighting along with a natural bi-color effect, offering enhanced capabilities compared to its predecessors.

Full RGBWW Color Control

Engineered to provide comprehensive color control for innovative lighting, the Ice Light 3 RGB offers access to millions of color options through its RGB and HSI modes, along with a variable CCT ranging from 2700 to 6500K. The RGB mode enables users to tailor hues by adjusting the red, green, and blue channels, whereas the HSI mode broadens the color range with accurate control over hue, saturation, and intensity. Users can finely adjust dimming from 0 to 100%, allowing for precise intensity settings as required. Additionally, the Ice Light 3 RGB features the practicality of a +/-50 green/magenta shift, enhancing color accuracy further.

Additional notable features include the fixture's blackout mode, which can deactivate the display for light painting during long exposure applications, as well as a standby mode that turns off the light while keeping the display operational.

AC Power & Battery Grip

This version of the Ice Light 3 can run off the included AC adapter and 16' long USB-C cable or use the conveniently included battery grip. Designed for all types of operation, this kit was put together by Westcott for those who need to keep the Ice Light 3 shining on the go. The included Ice Light 3 battery grip operates the light in any location, regardless of power availability. It will give you up to 1.5 hours of runtime at full power or up to three hours at 50%. The battery grip fully recharges in two hours, supporting USB-C trickle charging to power other devices on set. Other power options include optional power banks or V-mount batteries for more flexibility, depending on your requirements.

Silent Operation

The fixture is flicker-free up to 4000 fps for high-speed video applications and runs quiet thanks to its passive cooling. This means the Ice Light 3 can be placed in sound-sensitive environments for video recording and live production, such as interviews and streaming setups. Precision Barndoors

Use the included barndoors to direct the light where you want it to go. This modifier improves control in any lighting setup while limiting spill light. These slide-and-lock barndoors provide light-shaping precision when directing, focusing, or feathering your light. They easily attach to the Ice Light 3 thanks to the intuitive slide-in design.

Travel Ready

At only 1 lb alone, users can create their own kit with two or more Ice Light 3 units without it being a burden to carry around. This particular kit holds a single Ice Light 3 fixture with a 1.5' length (without the battery grip) or a total of 2.1' (with the battery grip), plus an AC power adapter, a 16' long USB-C cable, barndoors, and a robust case for storage and transportation with safety. The included hard-shell case fits the light and its accessories, featuring a removable shoulder strap and exterior ones for attaching a separately available compact light stand.
