Zoom AMS-44 Audio Interface

Musicians who require a compact and versatile audio interface while on the move will find the Zoom AMS-44 to be an excellent choice. This ultraportable device offers a user-friendly and efficient feature set, making it ideal for recording and streaming to Mac or Windows computers, as well as iOS or Android mobile devices. It is equipped with four TRS/XLR inputs, two TRS outputs, two headphone jacks, and a USB-C connector, along with dedicated modes for both streaming and recording purposes.

Connect your instruments or microphones to the TRS/XLR inputs, and activate the 48V phantom power switch to supply power to condenser microphones. Input 1 is equipped with a Hi-Z switch specifically designed for guitarists. You can monitor audio through the two 3.5mm headphone jacks or link monitor speakers to the stereo TRS output. The AMS-44 is capable of 24-bit resolution recordings with sampling rates reaching up to 96 kHz. This interface draws power from your computer via bus power, but it can also be powered using two AA batteries or an AC power adapter (sold separately), which is particularly useful when connecting to a smartphone or tablet. The direct monitoring and loopback features facilitate straightforward recording of overdubs and the integration of music into your streams.

In Streaming mode, all inputs are merged into a unified signal, allowing for straightforward streaming without the necessity for complex additional software. In Music mode, users can record into their Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) with enhanced input and output routing capabilities.

The AMS-44 features onboard hardware switches that aim to streamline typical streaming difficulties without requiring supplementary software. Its user-friendly knobs enable the adjustment of input gain and monitoring levels. Additionally, the Stereo switch facilitates the grouping of the two inputs.

Onboard Monitoring

Use the Direct Monitor Switch to directly send the input signal to your headphones while routing the same signal to your DAW or streaming software.

Loopback

The Loopback Switch combines the input audio with playback from your computer and routes it to your streaming software. This is perfect for adding background music to your stream or singing live with an instrumental track.
