Zoom R20 Portable Multitrack Recorder

An innovative, comprehensive tabletop device designed for the recording, editing, and mixing of music, the Zoom R20 Portable Multitrack Recorder combines a touchscreen interface reminiscent of digital audio workstations, user-friendly color-coded controls, and the capability to handle up to 16 tracks. This allows both solo musicians and full bands to create music and express their creativity independently of a computer. Additionally, should a DAW-centric workflow be required, the R20 can function as an 8x4 USB audio interface compatible with nearly all audio production software.

The R20 functions as a hybrid device, encompassing a recording console, a virtual instrument, and an effects unit. It is equipped with eight preamps, channel strips, drum loops, synthesizer sounds, and various digital processing features, including compression, equalization, gating, and additional effects. The R20 allows for the connection of multiple microphones, an electric guitar, headphones, speakers, and even a MIDI keyboard, establishing it as a versatile central component for any home studio or mobile production setup.
