This advanced DIGIC X processor enables high-speed burst shooting and high-resolution 4K video recording, allowing for continuous shooting at rates of up to 40 frames per second using a silent electronic shutter, or 12 frames per second with a mechanical shutter, while performing autofocus and autoexposure calculations prior to each frame. Additionally, the camera features a 30 fps RAW Burst mode, which facilitates pre-release capture, enabling the recording of events that occurred up to 0.5 seconds before the shutter is pressed.

Also, improved processing leads to improved low-light performance, with the sensitivity range now extending from ISO 100-102400, and expandable to ISO 204800 for working in very difficult lighting conditions.
