The 24.2 Megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor provides exceptional sensitivity, detailed image quality, and rapid performance, enabling remarkable resolution for fast-paced photographs in both daylight and nighttime conditions. Additionally, the sophisticated DIGIC X image processor facilitates 4K video recording and minimizes noise, allowing for uninterrupted shooting without concern for missing the perfect moment.

DIGIC X Processor

The R10, utilizing technology from the R3, is equipped with a DIGIC X image processor that facilitates a range of high-speed functions, including continuous shooting and high-resolution video capture. Specifically, the R10 can achieve continuous shooting rates of up to 23 frames per second using a silent electronic shutter, or 15 frames per second with a mechanical shutter, while performing autofocus and autoexposure calculations prior to each shot. Additionally, this processor enables a wide sensitivity range from ISO 100 to 32000, which can be expanded to ISO 51200, making it suitable for challenging lighting environments.

UHD 4K Video Recording

In addition to still photography, the R10's sensor is capable of high-resolution UHD 4K 8-bit video recording. It can capture footage at 60 frames per second using a cropped section of the sensor or at 30 frames per second by utilizing an oversampled 6K recording area, which enhances sharpness, minimizes moiré, and reduces noise. Furthermore, for slow-motion effects, the device supports recording at 120 frames per second in Full HD resolution.

The R10 also facilitates HDR-PQ recording, enabling in-camera HDR production in 10-bit format, as well as external recording through the micro-HDMI port, which provides a clean 4K output. Additionally, it allows for unlimited recording durations and is equipped with an external microphone port and a multi-function shoe, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of accessories.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II

The advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system, inherited from the EOS R3, incorporates 651 automatic AF points that span the entire sensor area, resulting in quicker, more responsive, and highly accurate focusing capabilities. This phase-detection focusing mechanism is further enhanced with improved subject detection and tracking, allowing it to intelligently identify individuals, animals, and vehicles. The system automatically locks onto these subjects, ensuring consistent sharp focus during continuous shooting. Additionally, the Dual Pixel AF II boasts a low-luminance limit that enables focusing down to an impressive -4 EV, facilitating precise focusing even in low-light environments.

Body Design

• Bright, clear 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder is featured for high-resolution eye-level viewing. This 0.95x-magnification finder is benefitted by the fast processing for virtually no lag and a quick 120-fps refresh rate can be used for vivid, realistic motion portrayal.

Flexible Connectivity

The camera offers both wired and wireless connectivity options, facilitating various methods for transferring photos and videos, in addition to enabling remote control of the device. On the physical side, it is equipped with a USB Type-C port, a micro-HDMI port, and a 3.5mm microphone port, which enhance video recording capabilities. For wireless connectivity, it supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing for efficient transfer and remote operation of the camera.

Next-Generation Multi-Function Shoe

The Multi-Function Shoe represents an enhancement to the traditional hot shoe, incorporating an additional row of pins at the front to facilitate increased accessory capabilities and supply power to certain accessory types that typically depend on individual batteries. This upgraded shoe is compatible with various accessories, such as the ST-E10 Speedlite Transmitter, DM-E1D Stereo Microphone, and AD-P1 Smartphone Link Adapter, along with the AD-E1 Multi-Function Shoe Adapter, which ensures compatibility with older shoe-mounted accessories.
