Additionally, the sensor is equipped with a comprehensive 100% phase-detection autofocus system, boasting 425 selectable points that nearly encompass the entire sensor area. This autofocus system ensures rapid and precise focusing capabilities, with low-light sensitivity reaching down to EV -7. Enhancing the imaging and focusing performance, the camera is also equipped with the updated X-Processor 4, which provides quicker focus response for tracking subjects and supports Face- and Eye-Detection AF in AF-C mode and during video recording.
The X-Processor 4 features four CPU units that facilitate faster image processing, thereby improving overall performance with enhanced autofocus and tracking speeds. The camera allows for rapid continuous shooting at up to 8 frames per second with a mechanical shutter or 30 frames per second with an electronic shutter and a 1.25x crop. Furthermore, it supports internal UHD 4K30 video recording with F-Log.
UHD and DCI 4K Video Recording
The X-T30 transcends the capabilities of a conventional stills camera by presenting a compelling suite of video features. It supports internal UHD 4K30 video recording at rates of up to 200 Mb/s, with the added advantage of simultaneous external and internal recording. Additionally, it is capable of DCI 4K30 and Full HD 1080p120 recording, allowing for video files to be saved in either MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 or HEVC/H.265 formats. The quad-CPU X-Processor 4 significantly enhances video performance by facilitating rapid read speeds during 4K recording, thereby minimizing rolling shutter distortion when capturing moving subjects.
Furthermore, the X-T30 II incorporates the F-Log gamma setting, which delivers a flat image suitable for advanced color grading in post-production. This feature optimizes the dynamic range in challenging scenes, enabling adjustments to tone, shadow tone, color, and sharpness. When utilizing F-Log, users benefit from an updated noise reduction algorithm and 4K inter-frame noise reduction, with the minimum sensitivity adjusted to ISO 640, accommodating a wider variety of shooting conditions.
Enhanced Autofocus
The X-T30 II is equipped with the X-Processor 4 quad-core CPU, which utilizes Intelligent Hybrid AF to deliver rapid and precise focusing in as little as 0.02 seconds on any subject. Notable improvements have been implemented to enhance the tracking of moving subjects, thereby optimizing autofocus for both still images and its robust 4K/30p video functionality. Additionally, the low-light focusing capability has been significantly improved from the previous model, now functioning effectively down to -7EV. The camera features 425 sensors that provide comprehensive phase detection autofocus across the entire frame, along with advanced face and eye detection autofocus, complemented by a new Face Selection option.
